Award for Prof. Yamuna Kachru
Dr. Yamuna Kachru, Emeritus Professor in Linguistics,
University of Illinois, IL (USA) will receive the award for
excellence in linguistics from the President of India.
She is one of the four recipients to receive this award in
2006.
This prestigious award speaks of Prof. Yamuna Kachru's
distinguished research record and stellar reputation as one of the
foremost experts in Hindi language and Linguistics.
The award will be presented to Prof. Kachru by Dr.
A. P. J. Abdul Kalam at a ceremony at the Rashtrapati
Bhawan in New Delhi on September 14, 2006.
